Join us for the second workshop series in the Conscientious Clinician Program (CCP)- Supporting Marginalized Communities Historically marginalized communities often experience a unique set of health needs, rooted at the intersection of complex individual, interpersonal, sociocultural, and political factors. This session engages participants in strategies for identifying and addressing those needs by centering the voices and experiences of members of these communities. By the end of the session, participants will feel empowered to take action and confront health injustice to achieve health equity. Presenter Bio: Judith Flores, MD, FAAP, CHCQM Dr. Judith Flores MD, FAAP, CHCQM is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has maintained an active clinical practice for over 30 years. She is a retired commissioned officer with the U.S. Public Health Service. As a New Yorker and Puerto Rican, she was raised & educated in Central Harlem. Board Certified in Pediatrics and in Health Care Quality and Management, and a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine and the American Public Health Association. Her interest in Community Medicine leadership and Population Health in her career has taken her from lead pediatrician providing care for families impacted by substance use disorder to medical, academic & healthcare leadership and publication. Dr Flores continues to be part of Health and Hospital Corporation, working with the New York City Test and Trace Corp, leading the Health Care Facilities Contact Tracing Notification Team. |
