| Description: | Unpacking Gender and Sexuality seeks to provide an introduction to rethinking what we know about gender and sexuality. While many LGBTQ+ 101 trainings focus on gender and sexuality terms, identities, and their meanings, this workshop will provide broader definitions and an overview of theories to understand gender and sexuality from a wider perspective. The workshop will cover the experiences of LGBTQ+ communities, but will also challenge the framework that problematizing gender and sexuality should only be related to these communities. How does shifting our practices and understanding of gender and sexuality more broadly benefit all people and ensure that those often marginalized are more frequently and consistently included? |
