Description: Joins us for the first meeting of the Pre-Health Research Journal Club.

Speaker Series:
Speaker 1:
Jamilia Isabekova is a 4th-year medical student at SUNY Downstate who graduated from Hunter College. She will be talking about her research experience at an organic chemistry wet lab and will additionally answer any questions you have regarding applying to/being in medical school!
Speaker 2:
Srinjoy Goswami is a junior at Hunter College and has had 6 years of research experience in various institutions such as Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where his father is a principal investigator, and Weill Cornell Medicine where he currently conducts research on cancer stem cells.

• Guidelines for future presentations in Journal Club
• How to gather the main points of a paper effectively and the difference between a paper
versus a review article.
• The Do’s and Don’ts in a lab and when working with a PI.
• Skills to learn during the COVID-19 quarantine period that looks favorably to PIs later.
• Exclusive to Hunter Journal Club members: A compiled database of newly open laboratories that are seeking new interns!
