Come and learn how to suture. The term “suture” is used to refer both to a specific technique for closing a wound, in which the sides of the wound are stitched together and to the individual stitches involved in the wound closure/care. It will be hosted by the lovely Dr. Jacqueline Babayev, DPM and there will be snacks! I know you are all very busy, but this would be an amazing opportunity to learn more about a field where you will be a surgeon in 7 years. The field is a tight knit community, where you will specialize early on and have immense autonomy in your practice. Podiatry is a diverse multi-faceted field, where you are a surgeon, a healer, and a consultant for diabetic patients in need. Being a podiatrist does not mean just cutting toenails but be a specialized doctor and surgeon, while still having a great work-life balance. Our field is growing every day, and we welcome students of all facets because we believe you are more than your GPA, MCAT, or your extracurricular activities.
